With the West African Quality Program of the ECOWAS Commission funded by the European Union, the United Nations Industrial Development Organization(UNIDO) invites application from well qualified persons for the position of;

ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT
(BILINGUAL)

Background: The west African quality programme with two components covering (1) UEMOA countries and (2) ECOWAS (non UEMOA) countries and Mauritania, provides support to the strengthening of enterprise competitiveness in quality and in the implementation of the WTO Agreement on the technical barriers to trade and on sanitary and phyto-sanitary measures (SPS). The Regional support Unit (RSU) for component 2, covering eight ECOWAS (non UEMOA ) countries and Mauritania is based in Abuja.

Job Summary:
The selected candidates will provide programme as well as secretarial support to the Regional support Unit(RSU) headed by the chief Technical Advisor(CTA). She/He should be a self starter, self motivated, mature, able to use initiative with little supervision and a good player in a small team.

Minimal Qualification and Experience:
- Very good command of written and spoken English and french
- Higher Nation Diploma in secretarial studies from recognized institution or a university degree with one year study in executive secretarial work.
- computer literacy with excellent working knowledge of MS Word, MS PowerPoint, email and Internet essentials and software.
- A minimum of three years working experience in secretarial and/or diversified administrative duties or office management.
- Basic accounting knowledge to handle petty cash.
- Ability to manage electronic/manual filling system.
- High level of interpersonal skills, ability to work with diversified people and sensitivity to multi-cultural issues.

Major Duties:
- Provide programme support services and assist managing communication and work flow
- Provide secretarial (including typing) and public relation services to the programme.
- Receive, operate and manage office equipments and supplies.
- Provide assistance in programme administration, financial and human resources management, and day to day programme activities.
- provide other/miscellaneous programme related duties and when required
